It is ideal for someone with a ready business and looking to set up a lab in CO. The buyer can save a year from setting up a lab and go through CLIA, Medicare, and Medicaid approvals. The current CLIA does not need to be renewed till 9/2024.
It is also a safer lab to buy since it has no past billing history and is brand new and with no debt.
Currently, the lab is renting a small room of about 150 sq. ft. in a medical office, but the buyer can move it elsewhere.
The lab is dormant, but the PCR equipment can be used for several assays – Covid, RPP, UTI, etc. The Lab was validated for this, but the equipment must be validated again when moved to a new location. The owner can offer to consult help to validate these tests once the equipment is in the new lab location (if the buyer decides to move out).
The Lab owns ABI 7500 from Thermo Fisher, manufactured in 2004 and was validated for COVID. It also has a UV PCR prep station, several pipettes, and some reagents/controls for Covid/Flu/RSV panel. The other required equipment, such as the fridge/freezer, counters, and cabinets, are part of the leased space build-out.
The owner is an experienced Lab Director and Lab Supervisor. The buyer can hire him, but it is not a required condition for sale.
